I will try to find a day that works to work on my site weekly. We have been having a lot of fun. Here are a few highlights of the first couple of months in this new school year.

So it's almost here. School is about to start and I am getting our classroom set up. I am very excited about the coming school year. We are going to have a lot of fun. Here are a few photos of our classroom.
This is the front of our room where we will conduct our morning and afternoon meetings as well as read aloud times.
Here is one of our reading/project tables that we have in our classroom. We also have a small classroom library and our mailboxes in the background.
Last year's class helped me create this chair. We call it the sweet seat. You will get to sit in this chair when you share your writing or if you are helping me.
This is our sink area and our student tables.
Sorry about the glare but this is the view of our classroom as you walk in the door.
Well I hope you've enjoyed the peek. I hope you are as excited as I am. I hope you have fun with what is left of summer. See you soon!

We just finished our unit on fossils. We created our fossil book about four types of fossils, trace, mold, true form, and cast. After we learned about the types of fossils we had a formative assessment. Students had to select the correct picture that represented each type of fossil. Once we had all the paperwork in order my Paleontologists gathered their tools and began to dig for their fossils. We had a lot of fun. We even had our 6th grade helpers help in the dig. Thank you Avory and Maggie!!!

It is March and this is my first post. I'm sorry! This has been a fun but busy year for us. Today is the day after Dr. Seuss' birthday, so we had a celebration! We celebrated with Seuss Juice, a Seuss writing activity, a Seuss reading, and we made Seuss hats. It was a fun day! Here is Mrs. G reading WITH HER EYES SHUT!!!!!!
